Winter Park

As always, we took our annual post-Christmas trip to Winter Park. This year was so much fun because Brian and Addi learned to ski! Brian, despite having grown up in Colorado, had never gone skiing before. My mom got him, Ashley and my dad private lessons for Christmas. They spent two days with their instructor and had a great time learning and perfecting their skills. Mom and I watched the girls and took them on a little sleigh ride, which Maren slept through.

We signed Addi up for ski school in Sol Vista. We liked it because it is a place where a lot of people go to learn to ski and there aren't a lot of crowds and people zooming down the mountain at top speed like in Winter Park. They have a great all day program and a special area that is roped off just for the little kids. Addi loved it! She was so incredible at cruising downhill and at one point she even straddled a little cone on the hill as she skied down! She was so worn out after the day was done -- she fell asleep in Brian's arms as we walked to the car. After all 6 hours on the slopes (with hot chocolate and food breaks of course) is a long time for a 5 year old!
