The Panther

We like to play this game with Addison; we call it "panther." It goes a little something like this . . . One of us lucky parents gets down on all fours and pretends to be a gazelle, grazing innocently in the African Savannah. Meanwhile, Addi, the leopard, panther, lion or any other imaginable large jungle cat, stalks said gazelle. Eventually she comes within striking distance and leaps impressively from all fours onto our backs while making a snarling sound. The gazelle falls to the ground and is then attacked viciously by the jungle cat. We have coined the term "panthering" for anytime she decides to leap onto us in this way.

Tonight Addi drew a picture of an Addi-lion panthering our dog Henrietta. I have to admit, panthering did not immediately come to mind.
