Addi loves it when we read her books, but she sometimes prefers to just sit on her own and read to herself. When I say "read" I mean she looks at the pictures and repeats the portions of text that she has memorized. Sometimes we ask her if she wants us to read to her, and she simply replies,"No, Addi reading by herself." It is superbly cute and quite rewarding to see her take such an intense interest in reading, and we only hope that with continued encouragement this trend continues.
She especially loves her "dino book," and will read it for 30 minutes at a time. When she is finished she always asks us which dino is our favorite, and we talk about the different kinds and their dino-names.
Brian has helped Addi to cultivate an unwavering love of hockey. She has attended at least one live game each season we have been back in Colorado, and she and Bri watch every other game on TV together. It is their special treat to eat M&Ms and stay up late watching the Avs. Some of Addi's favorite hockey sayings include: "Go Avs (only it sounds like Go Abs)!," and "Nice shot dude!"
At our last game Brian brought Addi down to the ice so she could see her absolute favorite part of every hockey experience -- the zamboni, or as Addi calls it, the yamboni. In order to avoid an emotional meltdown, we have convinced Addi that when the zamboni leaves the ice it is because it needs to go sleepy night.

Love it! She is too cute in her Av's jersey!
Zephyr is a bookworm too, and it certainly is rewarding, I agree!
