So we went out and bought one of those magical ovulation predictor kits and voila, we're pregnant! Who knew that could happen? Things have happened quickly, but we are all adjusting. I am already 12 weeks along! I had a terrible bout with morning sickness in the beginning, and it still hasn't really gone away. On what was supposed to be my first day of school I ended up vomiting so often that I couldn't leave the house or even keep down a cracker. My Mom showed up to watch Addison and I had to break the news to her, which was so helpful because she took care of things so I could just lie still. I have already had to drop all but my 3 online classes, but I am looking forward to relieving some extra stress.
Unfortunately I had to go on some anti-nausea meds at six weeks. I have some blood sugar issues, and if I don't eat first thing in the morning I will feel sick the rest of the day and my blood sugar plummets. Not a very good combo with morning sickness. I have been doing everything in my power to naturally alleviate the nausea -- eating the right things, wearing my acupressure wrist bands and seeing my acupuncturist regularly. Luckily I have been able to wean myself off the meds for the most part.
Addi and Brian have been fabulous. Brian takes on extra responsibilities around the house and Addi keeps saying, "Mommy tummy hurt? I will take care of you," while she puts her arm around me and gives me a mooch. So cute. She insists that she is going to have a baby brother and she wants to name him "Addi II" or just "Two" (Obscure Seinfeld reference: Anybody remember the episode where George wanted to name his future child Seven?) She will be seriously disappointed come April.

Woot! I am glad that you are out of the first trimester and are telling everyone now! Hopefully you are feeling better and can get your ass up to the Mont to hang with me and James soon. I love Addi's suggestion for a name, and I do not find the Seinfeld reference to be obscure at all. Save Seven for the 3rd kid though. Addi II has more of a ring to it. I am voting....girl I think. I have gone 5 for 5 in my last gender predictions. Although I reserve the right to change my prediction when I see you, if that ever happens before the kid is born :-) Miss you guys, and I am SOOOOO happy for you! I am hoping the remainder of this pregnancy and your birth can be everything that Addi's was not. I mean, she is great and all, but you know......
Congrats Icklers! I still vote for Ike or Nick if the baby is a boy. For a girl, I think Pickler would be good...after Kellie Pickler of course. But seriously, here's to a LONG and healthy pregnancy- keep that baby cooking! April is the best month for births- I speak from experience!
Congratulations Kara and family! I'll keep good pregnancy and birth thoughts coming your way!
